The Story of SAFIR
Syrian Art for International Reach
SAFIR emerged as a project of MASSYR, a non-profit association established in Lebanon in 2015, with a commitment to supporting artists and strengthening the international presence of contemporary art from Syria and the wider Middle East.
Built around two essential pillars — capacity building and connectivity — SAFIR has worked to create opportunities for artists to develop their practices, build meaningful professional relationships, and engage with international artistic communities.
Through mentorship, workshops, artist residencies, cultural partnerships, and exhibitions, SAFIR continues to connect artists with new ideas, audiences, and opportunities across borders.
Over the years, SAFIR's journey has evolved through collaboration, dialogue, and the belief that art can build lasting connections between people and cultures.
